Vision and values

Vision

Everyone at DCA will be empowered to change the world for the better:

At Dixons City Academy, every child will be equally able to secure outstanding educational outcomes and reach their full potential. All children will be instilled with the desire to learn the knowledge to think critically and creatively; they are empowered to determine their own future and change the world for the better. Students will achieve this through becoming resilient learners and appreciating our 5 core PRIDE values (Purpose, Respect, Integrity, Determination and Excellence), modeled by all staff at all times. We are ambitious for our whole community and invest in strong professional relationships in order to be the best we all can be. Dixons City Academy values its long-established reputation as a top-performing school, with student learning at it’s heart.

Values

Our purpose is excellence at DCA and we live our PRIDE values in our actions.

Value

Artefact – what actions you will see from students and staff at DCA

PURPOSE

We will change the world for the better. We are on time and we always work hard.

RESPECT

We treat others in our diverse community as we wish to be treated. We always follow instructions: first time, every time.

INTEGRITY

We do the right thing because it is the right thing to do (especially when no one is watching). We are kind to everyone.

DETERMINATION

Mistakes are learning opportunities. We never give up on our learning because when we work hard we achieve amazing results.

EXCELLENCE

Success is a journey not a destination. We focus on controlling the controllables and being the best versions of ourselves.

Some very brave students @dixonsca agreed to open their results while being filmed by Look North. A few quiet tears from me and @JoOrton90 as we watched another great year group get ready to fly the nest and move on to their next chapter. Congratulations to the Class of 2019. https://t.co/J68EJLks5t

A fantastic morning here at City as we celebrate the achievements of our Year 13 in #BDResults. It was great to share it with @Lizzy_Steel from @BBCLookNorth and the @Bradford_TandA. More coverage to follow later, but here are a few photos. https://t.co/5TtUbDDHaX
