Year 10 Students Compete at Maths Feast

Posted 31st March 2022

On Wednesday the 23rd of March, eight of City's Year 10 mathematicians took part in the regional finals of Maths Feast.

The competition is organised by The Advanced Mathematics Support Programme (AMSP), a charity which provides opportunities to enhance the learning of mathematics around the country and took place this time at Dixons Sixth Form.

In teams of four, students raced to answer extremely complex problems against the clock and eighteen other school teams, including many Dixons Trust Academies from the Yorkshire area.

Our students excelled in teamwork and really enjoyed the collaborative nature of the four rounds.

Certificates were awarded to the winner of each round and the DCA team of Dillon Burton, Halima Abdul-Halim, Divine Okonkwo and Saifullah Mudassir came out on top in the first round and finished second overall, with our other team of Anna Mills, Db Justin Derla, Bismah Ahmed and Robyn Cummins taking fourth in a highly competitive contest.

Overall, our teams finished in second and fourth (Anna, Justin, Bismah and Robyn) in a highly competitive contest. Our school community can be proud of both their result and their conduct as ambassadors for Dixons City Academ
