Oxford University Programme Inspires Year 10 Students
Posted 20th May 2026
A group of high-achieving Year 10 students recently took part in an exciting programme delivered in partnership with BeUniq and supported by Oxford University, designed to raise aspirations and encourage progression to top universities, including those in the Russell Group.
The event provided students with a valuable insight into university life and the opportunities available to them beyond sixth form. Through a series of engaging and interactive workshops, students developed their skills in critical thinking and debating, helping to build confidence and resilience when approaching complex ideas and discussions.
In addition to these sessions, students were supported in exploring the university application process. They learned about the importance of super-curricular activities and how these can strengthen future applications to competitive institutions. The programme also offered practical guidance on what students can do now to prepare for their next steps in education.
Oxford student ambassadors played a key role in delivering the sessions, sharing their own experiences and offering first-hand insight into university study and life. This helped to inspire students and provide a clearer understanding of what it takes to succeed in higher education.
Overall, the experience was highly beneficial, encouraging students to aim high and consider a future at leading universities such as Oxford and other Russell Group institutions.
