Performing Arts assessment

Dixons City Academy has a specialism in performing arts and, consequently, it can offer up to 10% of places (18 places) each academic year to children applying for a Year 7 place. In order to be invited to the performing arts assessment, parents need to complete the Performing Arts page of the supplementary form and the form needs to be submitted by the deadline date. For entry into Year 7 in September 2020 the deadline is 3.30pm on Monday 23 September 2019.


Dates for performing arts assessment

For September 2020 intake, the performing arts assessments will take place over two days; Wednesday 9th October and Thursday 10th October and applicants will be invited to a half-day session on one of these dates. The date and time to attend will be advised by letter during week commencing 23 September 2019. If you have not received this information by Friday 27th September, please contact Admissions by

Drama auditions

Applicants who chose the Drama audition on the application form will be sent a copy of the monologue and instructions of how to prepare for their Drama audition, with their appointment letter. A copy of the monologue and instructions will also be available from the downloads section below on Friday 27th September.


Music auditions

Applicants who chose the Music audition on the application form will be sent a copy of the instructions advising them how to prepare for their Music audition, with their appointment letter. A copy of the instructions will also be available from the downloads section below on Friday 27th September.


Workshop only applicants

Applicants who applied for a performing arts place but did not choose a solo audition will be sent an appointment letter but no additional information about the solo audition.
