Dixons City Academy

Vincent Holdsworth

Assistant Principal, Quality of Education

Vincent started teaching in 2008 after working in the Petrochemicals industry for seven years and achieving a first-class degree in Chemistry with Honours, studying part-time at the University of Huddersfield.

Vincent joined Dixons City Academy in 2016 after working for nine years at another Bradford school and worked his way up to Head of Faculty for the Science department. Vincent then successfully managed the Science department for five years, achieving outstanding results in both combined and triple Science.

In 2021, Vincent moved on to the Senior Leadership Team at Dixons City, working in the area of curriculum development, improving teaching and learning and staff coaching, as well as line managing Science, Humanities and Modern Foreign Languages.

Being born in Bradford himself, Vincent is a firm believer in the Dixon’s mission of challenging educational and social disadvantage in the North, and believes that clarity in learning resources, classroom routines and expectations, as well as engaging lessons that are linked to the lives of students, is so important in achieving this.
