Steven Lafferty

Assistant Principal

After completing his BA Honours degree at York St John University, Steve began his career working as a pastoral manager at a secondary school in Leeds until 2010, before gaining his PGCE certificate at Thomas Telford School. Following this, Steve started his teaching career in Bradford in 2012, working at a local secondary school, where he was promoted to a Key Stage 4 Achievement Leader early in his career.

Steve helped lead three separate cohorts through their GCSEs, achieving fantastic outcomes before moving across to Dixons City Academy in January 2024. Steve showed immediate impact, leading the class of 2025 successfully through their GCSEs to fantastic outcomes once again. Steve was then appointed Assistant Principal for Culture and Personal Development in May 2025 and will continue to ensure positive outcomes for all students, whilst supporting young people to go on to lead happy and successful lives and become the best versions of themselves.
