Jonny Yale

Assistant Principal, Culture and Personal Performance

Graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University with a PGCE in Physical Education, Jonny qualified as a PE teacher in 2010, initially gaining valuable experience in schools across Teesside and Lancashire.

Joining Dixons City Academy in 2014, Jonny has played a pivotal role in developing the Physical Education department. Starting as a Teacher of PE, he quickly advanced to the position of Assistant Head of PE and ultimately took on the role of Head of PE in 2017. His values driven commitment to education has been a guiding force throughout his career. Under his leadership, the PE Department consistently achieved outstanding results at Key Stage 4, reflecting Jonny's commitment to academic excellence and student engagement.

In 2021, Jonny was appointed as Assistant Principal for Coaching and Staff Development. His focus on creating a positive and supportive school culture has contributed to the success and well-being of the Dixons City Academy community.

In 2023, Jonny moved into his current area of responsibility of Culture and Personal Performance, working daily on the marginal gains which help to sustain an environment at Dixons City Academy in which everyone in our community can be the best version of themselves and change our world for the better.
