About Careers

The Careers department support students in decision making at key points in their academic careers, providing up to date effective information, advice and guidance.

Students will have main contact with the department at key times but students can self refer to the department for an interview at any time if they have any issues they would like to discuss. The departmental office is based in the library and is surrounded by an extensive library of careers resources which have been awarded platinum status by the Bradford Careers library service.

Careers Education is delivered through the PHSE programme. Students can also gain access to Careers resources through the VLE.

The department works closely with the Post 16 team, Heads of Year and Individual Needs to ensure that those students who need our support receive it.

Introducing your Connexions Personal Adviser

Mr John Naylor - Connexions Personal Advisor (in school on Tuesdays and based on B19).

John is based in school on Tuesdays in B19. He is available to support all students from years 9 to 13, but works particularly with year 11s. Connexions covers a wide range of issues that might affect young people and John's specialist area is career planning. If students would like to arrange an interview they can see John in school or fill in a self referral form (available from B05).

He is also happy to hear from parents or carers who may want to assist students with their career planning. He works in the school holidays when students and parents can contact him via phone or E-mail and arrange to meet up with him at the Connexions Centre on John Street.
