Dixons has a well-established and highly successful Sixth Form of well over 260 students. We are big enough to create a lively and stimulating atmosphere and to offer a good range of courses, but small enough for students to get personal attention. Staying on to continue your education has many advantages. You will need higher qualifications if you want to go on to university. In the workplace, graduates command considerably higher salaries than non-graduates. They also have greater opportunities for further training and for promotion to senior levels of the organisations in which they work.

Remaining in education is therefore a really good investment in your future. If you are already one of our students, you will know that most of you remain at Dixons to study in the sixth form. Our reputation for excellent teaching and examination results has enabled us to build up one of the largest sixth forms in Bradford. Students have free access to a wide variety of excellent facilities which include a very well resourced library, several internet study areas, a common room and cafeteria.

If you are considering applying to Dixons for your sixth form studies from another school, you will find the atmosphere friendly and open. We admit a large number of external applicants each year, and you will soon feel very much a part of the sixth form. We take great pride in the good relationships that exist between students and staff and within the student body. As you near the end of Year 11, you are faced with a range of choices including employment, training, or continuing your studies elsewhere. You need to explore all these paths and get advice from many sources.

We want our sixth formers to have made an informed choice when opting for us. I hope that the information helps you to decide whether Post 16 at Dixons is the right place for you.
