Dear Parents and Carers
Please find attached our latest Section 8 letter from Ofsted. As this was a one-day inspection, there is no report or overall judgement. We are though delighted that the team recognised ‘marked improvements’ since the last inspection in 2014 and that they believe that our own self-evaluation of outstanding should be tested out at a full section 5. The letter does recognise the tremendous strengths of the school.
At Dixons City we work tremendously hard to instil ‘high aspiration’ in ‘a safe and friendly environment’ and I was delighted that this was recognised. We have great belief in our students and are passionate that through successful educational outcomes and a broad and rich school experience, they will go on to change the world for the better. I could not be more pleased that the inspectors recognised the unique ethos and vision of our school and how proud I am of our young people, the future leaders of this country.
I hope that you as parents share our delight at this thoroughly positive outcome. This letter is addressed to me, however, it is really a testament to my incredibly hard working staff, the wonderful young people we work with every day and their over-whelming supportive parents and carers. It is because of the three-way partner that this school continues to go from strength to strength.
Thank you for your on-going warmth and support. As the letter indicates, we are ‘highly ambitious and believe there is not room for complacency’, our relentless drive for continuous improvement will continue as we strive to be the absolute best that we possibly can be.
